Step One: The Registration Form
Most trading platforms collect your name, email address, phone number, and country of residence at registration. This is the minimum required to create an account. At this stage, you are not yet verified and typically cannot deposit or trade. The Kvarundron BTC platform's registration form follows a similar structure. Note that submitting this form means your contact details will be held by the operator — read the privacy policy before you submit.
KYC: Why Platforms Ask for ID
KYC stands for Know Your Customer. It is a legal requirement for regulated financial service providers in most jurisdictions, including Canada. To complete KYC, you will typically need to upload a government-issued photo ID (a passport or driver's licence) and a proof of address document (a utility bill or bank statement dated within the last three months). This process exists to prevent money laundering and to confirm that the account holder is who they claim to be.
What Happens After Verification
Once your identity documents are approved — a process that can take anywhere from a few hours to a few business days depending on the platform — your account is activated for deposits and trading. At this point you should receive confirmation of your account tier, any applicable trading limits, and the full fee schedule for your account type. If any of these documents are not provided automatically, request them in writing before you deposit.
The First Phone Call
Many trading platforms have an onboarding team that contacts new registrants by phone shortly after account activation. The purpose of this call is typically to walk you through the platform and answer questions. It may also be an opportunity for the platform to suggest a starting deposit amount. You are under no obligation to commit to any specific amount on that call. Take notes, ask about fees, and ask for any suggestions made verbally to be confirmed in writing.
